Our next sermon series will focus on becoming contagious with our faith. Not only were you made to worship God, but you were also made to tell the world about him. Your faith is meant to be contagious, reaching the everyday people in your life. Maybe you feel you are not equipped, or you may think you don’t know enough to answer the questions you may be asked. The Bible reminds us that God uses ordinary people to reveal his glorious, good news. He empowers us to tell others about the good news that is found in Jesus Christ alone.
We are going to spend the next several weeks learning about the many ways God uses us to share Jesus with others. We want to help you discover your faith sharing style. We will look at some simple tools and develop the proper motivation to clearly communicate the gospel with others. This series is based on Mark Mittelberg’s book, Contagious Faith: Discover Your Natural Style for Sharing Jesus with Others. We have a limited supply, but we want to provide an opportunity for you to purchase a copy of the book at the Welcome Center before or after each service.
God is a missionary God! He sent his son to rescue us, and he sends his people into world to carry on the mission. His church is meant to live in the world and enthusiastically share the good news of Jesus with their friends and neighbors. God uses you to spread his message of hope to the world. This is what Jesus meant when he said that his people would be salt and light in the world. Mittelberg reminds us that our faith is not just for ourselves. It’s not to be hoarded. It’s meant to be spread to others. To be infectious. Contagious. Let’s devote the next few weeks to learning how to spread the good news of Christ to those around us.

STAFF SPOTLIGHT:
KAREN MAXWELL
We are excited to officially welcome Karen Maxwell to the New Hope staff as our organist/accompanist.
Karen grew up in North Chili, NY, just outside Rochester, where the winters brought about 100 inches of snow annually. Her father served as a pastor in the Free Methodist Church and was on the faculty of Roberts Wesleyan College, while her mother, originating from an exceptionally musical family, shone as a soprano soloist for most of her 97 years.
Despite being raised in a devout Christian home, it wasn't until the age of seven, at her grandparents' camp meeting in East Liverpool, OH, that she truly embraced her faith, walking down a literal sawdust aisle to the altar. By 17, she had dedicated her life to full-time Christian service, initially envisioning herself as a minister or missionary’s wife. During her time at Eastman School of Music, she participated in short-term mission trips to Haiti, Brazil, Paraguay, and the Philippines, even acquiring cowbell skills in Brazil and her first harp in Paraguay.
Karen’s career spanned 34 years as a public school music teacher, serving K-12 students in Michigan, New Jersey, and Illinois. She is the proud mother of one son and six step-children, with three grandchildren. Her "full-time Christian service" manifested in daily life, playing roles such as pianist, organist, and choral director in various churches.
Alongside her husband, before his illness in 2016, they traveled extensively, visiting all 50 states and several European countries, including frequent trips to the UK to see a pen-pal of 65 years. Her hobbies include Bible study, reading, crafting, and music.
Her faith journey echoes the lyrics, "Although there've been times I've been out of His will, I've never been out of His care.” Karen says, “God is always in control and gives me direction in my decisions and a peace that surpasses anything in this world.”

EARLY CHILDHOOD MINISTRY UPDATE
The early childhood memory verse for February was “Love each other in the same way I have loved you.” (John 15:12, NLT). Bible stories about Jesus' disciples reminded us that we can follow Him and show love the same way that Jesus loved others. Jesus wants everyone to follow Him! We live in a great big world that needs to hear that Jesus loves everyone!
