Let's continue to...

Hey Church Family!

Happy Friday! It's almost back to school time for the majority of students here in Lee County and we're ready to partner with our friends at Colonial Elementary to start their year on a positive note! We're collecting brand new socks and underwear in all children's sizes to benefit the Kindergarten thru 5th grades. Underwear and socks are one of the most requested items from the school and we'll be collecting them thru 8/27. You can drop your donations by the church during the week or there's a large bin in the lobby if you worship on campus with us. It would be such an encouragement to the staff and teachers to see shelves stocked with new underwear and socks as they begin this school year!

Our next PB&J collection is Thursday, August 27 by noon. Please bring individually packaged sandwiches to the church and we'll deliver them to our mission partners at We Care Outreach. It's been a blessing to see many of you mobilizing your neighbors and communities to help us with this! Thanks for truly living out the gospel with us day in and day out!!!!

Sunday, August 23 will be Sue Hall's last day with us. Sue is retiring and we are grateful for her 2+ years of service with us at New Hope. With her excellent work ethic, readiness to always lend a hand and eye for detail, Sue has been a valuable member of the Operations staff and we'll greatly miss her. Our staff and lay leaders enjoyed working with her and her fun personality was a great asset to everyone! We wish Sue all the best in her retirement, be sure to tell her thanks for her hard work if you see her this week!

Don't forget to check out our wonderful weekly Bible study with Beth Hoving for a Biblical perspective on current events. One way to access these teachings is by visiting here: https://newhopefortmyers.org/biblestudy/ and the videos are updated each week. Beginning Wednesday, September 16 at 6:30pm, Beth will be teaching live in the sanctuary each week as an options for adults to attend.

If you are involved with a group that previously met on campus and would like to resume in person gatherings, please contact Ed Harger to review current safety protocols and make arrangements. We're looking forward to welcoming you back on campus this Fall!

Session and staff have worked hard to balance out the space and time the many thriving ministries at New Hope are given on campus each week. They've taken into consideration CDC guidelines, the measures being taken by the Lee County School District and created a plan so all age groups can enjoy time on campus each week. If you have additional questions or concerns, please contact one of the elders, Pastor Eddie or Pastor Mike.

Session and staff have researched the best and safest ways we can begin to meet together and all the details can be found by clicking the SITUATION UPDATE button below. With respect to guidelines from the CDC, we are monitoring our local COVID-19 numbers and if changes to our re-opening plan are necessary, we’ll adjust. Updates will be posted on Facebook and our website should any of our plans change. Initially, we are only restarting on campus worship services with no separate programming for early childhood, elementary or student ministry. Families are encouraged to worship with their children in our sanctuary that has been set up with physical distancing protocols.

We urge you to stay spiritually connected with your church family and join us for weekly Sunday worship as well as checking out the videos from our staff and pastors on the Experience New Hope channel. We’re continuing to pray and if you have concerns about our plans to meet in person or a prayer need, please do not hesitate to reach out to Pastor Eddie (239.450.3331) or Pastor Mike (813.368.1680). Don’t forget to check out our safety measures and plans for gathering again on campus, along with the service time details by clicking the SITUATION UPDATE button below!

With Love,
Your New Hope Team
