Let's actively pray for teachers, schools and families as we head

Hey Church Family!

Happy Friday! It looks like a brand new world but our public schools are reopening on Monday, August 31, and almost 100K students will be attending online and in person all across Lee County. Many private schools and homeschooling families have already resumed their school years as well. On Sunday, 8/30 during both of our services, we'll have a special time of prayer for ALL of the amazing faculty, staff members and parents who have tirelessly worked and done their best to prepare for the start of school. We know that much is accomplished by the fervent prayers of the righteous and this is a way each of us can love, serve & bless our community right now.

Because we're unable to pass the Friendship Pads in person and many people are still joining us online, we've begun to use a virtual Friendship Pad each week for attendance purposes. Whether you're here on campus or watching from home, we'd love for you to sign in with us each week. You'll also have an opportunity to share any prayer concerns on this form and it will help us in returning another element of our personal contact work which is a key component here at New Hope. To sign in each week, go to our website, select the CONTACT/LOG IN tab on the upper right hand of your screen, select Friendship Pad from the drop down menu and complete the form. You may also click here to directly access the virtual Friendship Pad or select the green button below! Thanks for adapting with us and trying new things as we seek to minister effectively.

Been missing the opportunities to serve in person? We've got an exciting opportunity for you! Pastor Eddie and Doug Keno are heading up a new ministry called the Telecare Team! This team will have the opportunity to reach out via phone to our church family and check in with people on an ongoing basis. We'd love your help as we seek to care for people! You can email Pastor Eddie (eddie@newhopefortmyers.org) or Doug (dougkeno2515@gmail.com) to join.

Big thanks to everyone who participated in our PB&J drive and socks/underwear collection! It is such a pleasure to see the faces that light up when we, as God's people, generously give to support our neighbors.

Our next blood drive is happening on Sunday, September 13 and you are required to pre-register here. Let's keep our generosity of spirit going as we give the gift of life and help others recover right here in Fort Myers.

Don't forget to check out our wonderful weekly Bible study with Beth Hoving for a Biblical perspective on current events. One way to access these teachings is by visiting here: https://newhopefortmyers.org/biblestudy/ and the videos are updated each week. Beginning Wednesday, September 16 at 6:30pm, Beth will be teaching live in the sanctuary each week as an option for adults to attend.

If you are involved with a group that previously met on campus and would like to resume in person gatherings, please contact Ed Harger (ed@newhopefortmyers.org) to review current safety protocols and make arrangements. We're looking forward to welcoming you back on campus this Fall!

Session and staff have worked hard to balance out the space and time the many thriving ministries at New Hope are given on campus each week. They've taken into consideration CDC guidelines, the measures being taken by the Lee County School District and created a plan so all age groups can enjoy time on campus each week. If you have additional questions or concerns, please contact one of the elders, Pastor Eddie or Pastor Mike.

Session and staff have researched the best and safest ways we can begin to meet together and all the details can be found by clicking the SITUATION UPDATE button below. With respect to guidelines from the CDC, we are monitoring our local COVID-19 numbers and if changes to our re-opening plan are necessary, we’ll adjust. Updates will be posted on Facebook and our website should any of our plans change. Initially, we are only restarting on campus worship services with no separate programming for early childhood, elementary or student ministry. Families are encouraged to worship with their children in our sanctuary that has been set up with physical distancing protocols.

We urge you to stay spiritually connected with your church family and join us for weekly Sunday worship as well as checking out the videos from our staff and pastors on the Experience New Hope channel. We’re continuing to pray and if you have concerns about our plans to meet in person or a prayer need, please do not hesitate to reach out to Pastor Eddie (239.450.3331) or Pastor Mike (813.368.1680). Don’t forget to check out our safety measures and plans for gathering again on campus, along with the service time details by clicking the SITUATION UPDATE button below!

With Love,
Your New Hope Team
