Continuing for hopeful expectation for

SEPTEMBER!

Hey Church Family!

The weather says Summer but the calendar says September so we're moving ahead with lots of exciting opportunities for Fall after this Labor Day weekend.

Because it is the first Sunday of the month, we'll be celebrating communion on 9/6 during both of our Sunday services. If you are watching online, we've included some guidance below if you'd like to participate in communion along with us.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE IN COMMUNION IF YOU ARE PART OF THE ONLINE NEW HOPE FAMILY

1. Purchase grape juice or wine
2. Purchase bread or baked crackers - Unleavened bread is the best expression of the "bread" element. Unleavened bread simply is bread baked without a rising agent (most large grocery stores stock unleavened bread), but you can select any bread of your choice.
3. Be ready at home with your elements - Pastor Eddie or Pastor Mike will direct you along with those who are gathered at the church through properly receiving communion. All you need to do is follow along online individually, as a family or with your group.

SCRIPTURE REFERENCES FOR PERSONAL USE
Matthew 26:26-30; Mark 14:22-26; Luke 22:19-20; 1 Corinthians 11:23-29

Because we're unable to pass the Friendship Pads in person and many people are still joining us online, we've begun to use a virtual Friendship Pad each week for attendance purposes. Whether you're here on campus or watching from home, we'd love for you to sign in with us each week. You'll also have an opportunity to share any prayer concerns on this form and it will help us in returning another element of our personal contact work which is a key component here at New Hope. To sign in each week, visit our website and select the CONTACT/LOG IN tab on the upper right hand of your screen, select Friendship Pad from the drop down menu and complete the form. You may also click here to directly access the virtual Friendship Pad or select the green button below! Thanks for adapting with us and trying new things as we seek to minister effectively.

We are so excited to welcome our children aged infant thru 5th grade back to on campus worship beginning September 13! We'll have early childhood (birth thru Pre-K) programming at 9am and 11am and Kindergarten thru 5th grade classes only at 11am. Safety protocols are listed here for early childhood and here for our elementary students. We're so grateful for our volunteers who are actively serving and all the time Pam & Debbie have invested to make our activities are safe and successful!

Many of our Circles of Fellowship and The Well are returning to in person meetings over the coming weeks. Click here to visit the Women's Ministry page for all the specifics and a preview of the on campus groups.

Been missing the opportunities to serve in person? We've got an exciting opportunity for you! Pastor Eddie and Doug Keno are heading up a new ministry called the Telecare Team! This team will have the opportunity to reach out via phone to our church family and check in with people on an ongoing basis. We'd love your help as we seek to care for people and you can email Pastor Eddie at eddie@newhopefortmyers.org or Doug at dougkeno2515@gmail.com to join.

Our next blood drive is happening on Sunday, September 13 and you are required to pre-register here. Let's keep our generosity of spirit going as we give the gift of life and help others recover right here in Fort Myers.

One of our local missions partners, Verity, is looking for items to sell at an event in November for fundraising purposes. Verity is a pregnancy and medical resource center serving families here in Fort Myers. Each year they ask for donations of vintage or eclectic items that you no longer want for us to "Repurpose". We would love to take those items off your hands and use them to help raise funds for Verity! Any treasures such as glasses, dishes, china, tea cups, silver items, old books, frames, jewelry, seasonal items, doilies, knick-knacks, and small furniture (tables, small bookcases etc.) just to name a few! If you've cleaned out some closets and would like to pass some items along, please contact Verity at  239.433.1929 to arrange a drop off or pick up in September.

Don't forget to check out our wonderful weekly Bible study with Beth Hoving for a Biblical perspective on current events. One way to access these teachings is by visiting here: https://newhopefortmyers.org/biblestudy/ and the videos are updated each week. Beginning Wednesday, September 16 at 6:30pm, Beth will be teaching live in the sanctuary each week as an option for adults to attend.

If you are involved with a group that previously met on campus and would like to resume in person gatherings, please contact Ed Harger at ed@newhopefortmyers.org to review current safety protocols and make arrangements. We're looking forward to welcoming you back on campus this Fall!

Session and staff have worked hard to balance out the space and time the many thriving ministries at New Hope are given on campus each week. They've taken into consideration CDC guidelines, the measures being taken by the Lee County School District and created a plan so all age groups can enjoy time on campus each week. If you have additional questions or concerns, please contact one of the elders, Pastor Eddie or Pastor Mike.

Session and staff have researched the best and safest ways we can begin to meet together and all the details can be found by clicking the SITUATION UPDATE button below. With respect to guidelines from the CDC, we are monitoring our local COVID-19 numbers and if changes to our re-opening plan are necessary, we’ll adjust. Updates will be posted on Facebook and our website should any of our plans change. Initially, we are only restarting on campus worship services with no separate programming for early childhood, elementary or student ministry. Families are encouraged to worship with their children in our sanctuary that has been set up with physical distancing protocols.

We urge you to stay spiritually connected with your church family and join us for weekly Sunday worship as well as checking out the videos from our staff and pastors on the Experience New Hope channel. We’re continuing to pray and if you have concerns about our plans to meet in person or a prayer need, please do not hesitate to reach out to Pastor Eddie (239.450.3331) or Pastor Mike (813.368.1680). Don’t forget to check out our safety measures and plans for gathering again on campus, along with the service time details by clicking the SITUATION UPDATE button below!

With Love,
Your New Hope Team
