Continuing for hopeful expectation for

SEPTEMBER!

Hey Church Family!

On this day, we pause for prayer to remember the families and friends of those who lost their lives on 9-11-2001. We pray for the orphans who've grown into young adults, for the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice, for the many affected even today by the events of that one Tuesday morning. We pray for those that defend our freedom, for wisdom for our leaders and we pray for peace for our country and our world. Amen.

It feels so good to have more and more people in the building throughout the week as we resume activities. We appreciate everyone observing the safety protocols and working together to make on campus events successful.

On Sunday, September 27, we'll have a congregational meeting at 10am (immediately following the 9am worship service) to establish the nominating committee for our upcoming deacon and elders selection. If you are a member of New Hope and are uncomfortable with being in the building, we'll provide a Zoom link for you to view the meeting. The Zoom meeting link will be in the 9/25 edition of the Enews. If you have someone to suggest for the nominating committee, please contact Art Hunkins, Clerk of Session, at artbonnet1@gmail.com.

Our next PB&J collection for We Care is Thursday, September 17. Please drop off your individually packaged sandwiches to the church by noon so we can deliver to our Mission Partners at We Care. This might seem like a little thing to you but it's made a HUGE difference in the lives of so many here in SWFL! Keep up the good work!

Because we're unable to pass the Friendship Pads in person and many people are still joining us online, we've begun to use a virtual Friendship Pad each week for attendance purposes. Whether you're here on campus or watching from home, we'd love for you to sign in with us each week. You'll also have an opportunity to share any prayer concerns on this form and it will help us in returning another element of our personal contact work which is a key component here at New Hope. To sign in each week, visit our website and select the CONTACT/LOG IN tab on the upper right hand of your screen, select Friendship Pad from the drop down menu and complete the form. You may also click here to directly access the virtual Friendship Pad or select the green button below! Thanks for adapting with us and trying new things as we seek to minister effectively.

We are so excited to welcome our children aged infant thru 5th grade back to on campus worship THIS SUNDAY, September 13! We'll have early childhood (birth thru Pre-K) programming at 9am and 11am and Kindergarten thru 5th grade classes only at 11am. Safety protocols are listed here for early childhood and here for our elementary students. We're so grateful for our volunteers who are actively serving and all the time Pam & Debbie have invested to make our activities are safe and successful!

The Well, our weekly Bible study for women of all ages, will begin meeting on campus on Wednesday, September 23 from 10am-noon. There is a limited number of spots available and you can register by clicking here to reserve your book and let us know you'll be attending. Many of our Circles of Fellowship are returning to in person meetings over the coming weeks. Visit the Women's Ministry page for all the specifics and a preview of the on campus groups.

Our next blood drive is happening on Sunday, September 13 and you are required to pre-register here. Let's keep our generosity of spirit going as we give the gift of life and help others recover right here in Fort Myers.

Next Wednesday, September 16 at 6:30pm, marks the return of Common Ground, our ministry for students in 6th-12th grade in Room 212. Contact Zack at zack@newhopefortmyers.org if you have any questions. To see the safety protocols, visit our student ministry page. Adult Bible study is also resuming on September 16 in the sanctuary from 6:30-7:30pm each week. Beth Hoving will be teaching through scripture with an emphasis on what it means to be the church in our present times. You'll be motivated and inspired as Beth encourages you to live as the body of Christ. Don't miss out on an opportunity for some midweek teaching! Beth's teachings will continue to be online and posted weekly as well.

One of our local missions partners, Verity, is looking for items to sell at an event in November for fundraising purposes. Verity is a pregnancy and medical resource center serving families here in Fort Myers. Each year they ask for donations of vintage or eclectic items that you no longer want for us to "Repurpose". We would love to take those items off your hands and use them to help raise funds for Verity! Any treasures such as glasses, dishes, china, tea cups, silver items, old books, frames, jewelry, seasonal items, doilies, knick-knacks, and small furniture (tables, small bookcases etc.) just to name a few! If you've cleaned out some closets and would like to pass some items along, please contact Verity at  239.433.1929 to arrange a drop off or pick up in September.

If you are involved with a group that previously met on campus and would like to resume in person gatherings, please contact Ed Harger at ed@newhopefortmyers.org to review current safety protocols and make arrangements. We're looking forward to welcoming you back on campus this Fall!

Session and staff have worked hard to balance out the space and time the many thriving ministries at New Hope are given on campus each week. They've taken into consideration CDC guidelines, the measures being taken by the Lee County School District and created a plan so all age groups can enjoy time on campus each week. If you have additional questions or concerns, please contact one of the elders, Pastor Eddie or Pastor Mike.

Session and staff have researched the best and safest ways we can begin to meet together and all the details can be found by clicking the SITUATION UPDATE button below. With respect to guidelines from the CDC, we are monitoring our local COVID-19 numbers and if changes to our re-opening plan are necessary, we’ll adjust. Updates will be posted on Facebook and our website should any of our plans change. Initially, we are only restarting on campus worship services with no separate programming for early childhood, elementary or student ministry. Families are encouraged to worship with their children in our sanctuary that has been set up with physical distancing protocols.

We urge you to stay spiritually connected with your church family and join us for weekly Sunday worship as well as checking out the videos from our staff and pastors on the Experience New Hope channel. We’re continuing to pray and if you have concerns about our plans to meet in person or a prayer need, please do not hesitate to reach out to Pastor Eddie (239.450.3331) or Pastor Mike (813.368.1680). Don’t forget to check out our safety measures and plans for gathering again on campus, along with the service time details by clicking the SITUATION UPDATE button below!

With Love,
Your New Hope Team
