A small group of people from New Hope is going to Cuba in October and we would like to take along some things to bless our brothers and sisters there. Specifically, we are looking for slightly used (but still in good condition) slacks or skirts for women. If you have some that you would be willing to donate, please bring them to the Mission Office at New Hope no later than Sunday, October 8 so we can take them with us. Thank you!
The first Thursday of every month, we collect peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for homeless people in Lee County. Our next one will be on Thursday, October 5. You can drop off your pre-made, individually wrapped PB&Js that day by noon and we will take them to We Care - a local ministry that supports the homeless. Thank you for your continued support of this ministry!
It’s time for the annual Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Collection. In addition to bringing great joy to millions of boys and girls in need around the world, gifts are accompanied by the Good News of Jesus Christ. We praise God that over the last three decades 50 million children have been discipled. In the past 14 years alone, over 17 million children have made decisions for Christ.
The amazing journey of a shoebox gift begins with you and will help spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ to remote areas in many countries. This year our SWFL regional area has a goal to distribute 12,012 boxes. Shoeboxes will be available at New Hope on October 1 and collection of the filled boxes will be November 13-20. If you prefer, you will be able to place your order for shoeboxes online by visiting samaritanspurse.org/operation-christmas-child starting November 1. Remember, your online fee of $25 includes the $10 cost to mail the shoeboxes. May you be blessed for your participation!
