eNews - September 24, 2021

Happy Friday, Church Family!

It's hard to believe that September is winding down and we're almost into October! There are several wonderful things planned in the coming months so be sure to read your eNews each week to stay up to date with the latest happenings!

We have a congregational meeting THIS Sunday, September 26 at 10:45am. The purpose of this meeting is to seat a nominating committee for Deacons, Elders, and Trustee for the Class of 2024 (this group of Deacons, Elders and a Trustee will serve from 1/1/22-12/31/24).

The committee has five members: David Carpenter (Chair), Al Cason, Candy Engelman, Bill Enslen, and Mike Scales. There can be three additional members filled by nominations from the floor during the meeting on 9/26. In order to nominate someone for the nominating committee, please make sure you speak to that individual IN ADVANCE of presenting their name to the floor.

This meeting is to seat a nominating committee for the offices of Deacon, Elder, and Trustee, not to elect the Deacons, Elders, and Trustee themselves.

For those unable to join us in person for the meeting, here is a link for the Zoom meeting. The meeting id# is 829 2873 8114 and the password is 042984.

A note regarding Zoom: Please visit this link and create a Zoom account prior to the meeting if you do not already have one. This is KEY. Once you have an account, you may click this link or enter the meeting id# and password. We will be monitoring this online and admit you to the meeting via Zoom after the 9:30am worship service concludes and the meeting will begin at 10:45am.

With the amount of events occurring around the world right now, many of you have inquired about a way to financially support those in need and affected by these events. If you feel led to contribute to these relief causes, you may do so through our church and we'll forward to our denominational fund that is providing relief efforts around the globe. You can click here to give and designate your contribution.

The 40 Days for Life event will be held from September 22 thru October 31, 2021, and we'd love to have you participate! This is a great opportunity to join with others who want to preserve the lives of those little ones from the horror of abortion.

God has blessed this effort over the years during 26 coordinated campaigns. 19,198 babies have been saved from abortion, 221 abortion workers have been converted, and 112 abortion centers have closed their doors.

Join with others from New Hope on the six Wednesdays of this campaign from 2-4pm or any part thereof to silently pray for God to work in the hearts of those who are thinking about aborting their babies.  Your presence could be the difference maker.

Our Hospitality Team met for training last month to get up to speed after COVID and enjoyed a great time of fellowship and discussion as they reviewed all the ways to make people feel welcome at New Hope! We're grateful for these volunteers and their dedication to living out the gospel together as they serve our church and help create an inviting environment for all!

If you have purchased tickets for our Going Beyond Simulcast for tomorrow, Saturday, September 25, the doors will open at 9:30am and the event will conclude at 5pm. Be sure to pray for a wonderful move of God's spirit as churches and groups across the country gather for this powerful time of worship and teaching.

Wednesday nights are back for all ages and it's been AMAZING! Our student ministry, Common Ground, kicked off the Fall with a new series called Together. This series is based on the book of Acts, learning the model of the early church, and that we're BETTER TOGETHER! 6th-12th graders enjoy pizza, games, small groups, and a Biblically-based lesson each week. BIG thanks to Jackie, Dena, and our fabulous small group leader volunteers who help make all of this happen each week!

We urge you to stay spiritually connected with your church family and join us for weekly Sunday worship on campus at 9:30am and 11am or online, as well as checking out the videos from our staff and pastors on the Experience New Hope channel. We’re continuing to pray and if you have concerns about our plans to meet in person or have a prayer need, please do not hesitate to reach out to Pastor Mike at mike@newhopefortmyers.org or 813.368.1680.

With Love,
Your New Hope Team
