POST-STORM CHECK-IN

Good morning, New Hope family. We hope everyone has come through Hurricane Helene alright. Though it did not hit us directly, our area has still seen much damage and flooding. If you are in need of post-storm help, please do not hesitate to contact us so we can coordinate help for you. We continue to pray God's protection and blessing on our community as we recover together.

Join us this Sunday at our 9:30am traditional service or 11am contemporary service as we conclude our "Gospel Living" sermon series. Pastor Sheldon will cover our fifth Core Value "Strategic Action" by looking at Luke 10:25-37.

If you attend our 11am Contemporary Service and would like to familiarize yourself with the songs we will be singing this Sunday, here are the links to check them out:

VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT:

DAVID MILLIGAN

“I’ve known Jesus my entire life, but my personal relationship with Him developed much later,” David shares. Growing up in a Presbyterian family, he engaged in church activities, including youth group and mission trips, and earned his Eagle Scout rank, taking his oath to “do my duty to God” seriously.

However, during college, he realized he had never truly committed his life to Jesus. A pivotal moment came when he was asked to acknowledge his belief in God in class, which led him to make a public profession of faith. “Although my personal relationship with Christ took root, it needed many years and difficult circumstances to grow,” he recalls.

After college, David married without fully understanding love, resulting in a loveless marriage that ended in divorce. This experience drew him back to church to nurture his faith. He eventually met his second wife, but their life together faced challenges when she struggled with addiction. After years of hardship, divorce became necessary for the sake of their son.

David found renewed hope when he met Sandra in a Bible study class. “Throughout our life at New Hope, we’ve deepened our love and commitment to each other and Christ,” he says. They believe service is essential to discipleship, with each person having unique gifts to offer. David has served in various roles, including elder, youth pastor search committee member, and property council. “My faith has deepened through service, prayer, and community involvement. I’ve learned that God prepares us for different seasons of life, and I encourage others to embrace their journeys, knowing that God has a unique plan for each of us.”

A REQUEST FROM PHILIP MANN

Before his passing, Philip Mann kindly requested that, in lieu of flowers or memorial gifts, all donations be directed to Ashleigh MacGillivray's GoFundMe account to assist with her medical expenses. If you desire to do so, you can click here to donate. Thank you for your support and generosity.

ADAM & KRISTY GRIFFITH

Camp season is coming! The Griffiths expect to have about 185 youth at each of their camps happening October 14-17 and 19-22. Planning and running camps for 370 youth is a huge undertaking and expense. Please pray that God will provide all the Griffiths need for a successful camp season and for the youth who will attend the camps to fall more in love with the God who first loved them!
