Check out how you can help us

Hey Church Family!

This weekend is full of Fall fun! Many families will celebrate Halloween on Saturday, our time change happens Saturday night {Don't forget to set those clocks back by an hour!} and we'll celebrate communion and All Saint's Day on Sunday, November 1. If you're not able to join us on campus for communion, you'll find instructions for participating at home further down in this message.

Christmas is right around the corner and we have a special way for you to support missions around the world! Operation Christmas Child is returning and it is a wonderful opportunity for all ages to continue the global Gospel mission. You can pick up your box at worship on Sunday or stop by anytime during the week. Then, fill your box with items a child might enjoy: a ball, doll, stuffed animal, markers, yo-yo, etc. Then add some practical items as well like a pair of socks, a bar of soap or a hairbrush and a pack of ponytails.

Bring your filled box back to New Hope by Sunday, 11/15

and we'll take it from there!

Don't want to shop in stores this year? You can CLICK HERE and select items for the boxes and OCC will pack your box for you! This is a wonderful way to safely participate in our annual Operation Christmas Child collection without leaving home. Simply follow the link and you'll be able to bless a child from across the world with a few clicks of your mouse.

We know many things have changed this year but our innovative bake sale leaders have created an opportunity to continue the annual bake sale so we can bless our mission partners in Syria.  While we won’t have the traditional shopping experience we’ve had in the past, we’ve created a bake sale menu based on the most popular items that the New Hope family looks forward to purchasing each year. Orders will be taken through an online order form and there will be drive-by pick up times where a masked volunteer will deliver your order to your vehicle.

To make this event a success, we need bakers! If you're interested in being a baker for this year's event, please contact Stephanie Goldberg at mrsgoldberg5000@gmail.com or Signe Pagel at signepagel@gmail.com.

Lee Health will be back on campus Sunday, November 15 from 8a-12:30p so we can participate in another blood drive. This is such a simple way to serve & love our neighbors and we'd love your support. Appointments are required and you can reserve your time slot by CLICKING HERE.

The Well, a Bible study for women of all ages, is beginning a new series on 11/11, meeting from 10a-12p, in preparation for Advent. This 4 week study will run until 12/9 with a break on 11/25 for Thanksgiving. The study, Because of Bethlehem by Max Lucado, will focus on the enduring promises of Christmas and the hope we have in Christ, a beautiful opportunity to keep your focus on the true meaning of the Christmas season this year. Participants are responsible for purchasing their own study guide by clicking here. In addition, you may also pre register for the study here so we can plan safe seating arrangements for all. Please contact Shannon if you have additional questions.

We are welcoming some familiar faces and a brand new one to our full time staff and we couldn't be happier about it!!!

Angel Dobson, who worked as our receptionist in 2018-2019, is back in an expanded administrative role. She'll work closely with Pastor Mike and the staff to provide support with various things around the office, ELI and volunteer coordination.

Jackie Elliot is a charter member of New Hope and an active part of our church family. She will fill the Family Ministry Director position that opened up when Michelle Myers moved to Communications & Connections. Jackie will be a huge encouragement to our families raising children and small group ministry in the future.

Our new technology and production guru is Austin Wunderlich. He's responsible for video creation, livestreaming our worship services and helping all our on campus groups out with anything A/V related. He's also our on site go to for anything IT related.

These three new employees are much needed additions to the New Hope team as we move forward with joyful expectation for the future. Be sure to say hello and welcome them aboard!

Beginning Sunday, November 8, full children's ministry and Common Ground for 6th-12th graders resumes each Sunday morning at 9:30am! At 9:30am, we'll offer the Parent Network and Restoration classes for adults. Parents: if you're attending a class at 9:30am, please drop your children off, proceed to class and then after class go ahead to worship in the sanctuary. The children will not be joining parents in the contemporary service for the rest of 2020 and they will remain in children's ministry until the conclusion of the 11am service.

The Bereans class will meet immediately following the 9a service in Room 206.

We are also continuing to offer overflow seating for both Sunday services in Room 210.

Session and staff have worked hard to balance out the space and time the many thriving ministries at New Hope are given on campus each week. They've taken into consideration CDC guidelines, the measures being taken by the Lee County School District and created a plan so all age groups can enjoy time on campus each week. As time progresses and conditions are more favorable, we will seek to add more in person activities back to our schedule. If you have additional questions or concerns, please contact one of the elders or Pastor Mike.

We need your help! Please take some time to prayerfully consider who you might nominate to fill the role of elder or deacon for our church. You can read more about these offices, what they entail and view the people presently serving right here. If you would like to nominate an individual for elder or deacon, please CLICK HERE to fill out the form. Because of C-19, we will not be distributing paper nomination forms this year so be sure to submit your candidates using the online form. The deadline for submitting nominees is Sunday, November 8. The slate of proposed elders and deacons will be presented in a congregational meeting on December 6 between the worship services.

We urge you to stay spiritually connected with your church family and join us for weekly Sunday worship as well as checking out the videos from our staff and pastors on the Experience New Hope channel. We’re continuing to pray and if you have concerns about our plans to meet in person or have a prayer need, please do not hesitate to reach out to Pastor Mike(813-368-1680). Don’t forget to check out our safety measures and plans for gathering again on campus, along with the service time details by clicking the SITUATION UPDATE button above!

With Love,

Your New Hope Team
