Check out how you can help us

Hey Church Family!

It's been a wet and wild week of weather here in SWFL! We've got many wonderful things happening throughout the last two months of 2020 and don't want you to miss a thing! From mission opportunities to loving our neighbors, the return of more family experiences to Christmas events we're looking forward to finishing this year strong! You can CLICK HERE to see all the holiday fun we're planning this December.

We know many things have changed this year but our innovative bake sale leaders have created an opportunity to continue the annual bake sale so we can bless our mission partners in Syria.  While we won’t have the traditional shopping experience we’ve had in the past, we’ve created a bake sale menu based on the most popular items that the New Hope family looks forward to purchasing each year. Orders will be taken through an online order form and there will be drive-by pick up times where a masked volunteer will deliver your order to your vehicle.

Bring your filled box back to New Hope by Sunday, 11/15!

No time to shop? Worried about holiday crowds in the stores? There's a convenient way to shop from home and still fill a box this year. You can CLICK HERE and select items for the boxes and Samaritan's Purse will pack your box for you! This is a wonderful way to easily participate in our annual Operation Christmas Child collection without leaving home. Simply follow the link and you'll be able to bless a child from across the world with a few clicks of your mouse.

The congregational meeting on 11/15 is for members to vote on the two issues presented on 11/1 in the informational meeting. The first issue is regarding dissolving the terms of call for Pastor Eddie Spencer as he is no longer serving at New Hope. The second issue is to respond to Session's recommendation to seat a Senior Pastor search committee. The members nominated by Session to serve on this committee are: Dan Ceilly, Bill Enslen, Duane Higgins, Kathy Orr and Ken Walker (Convener).

If you cannot attend the meeting in person, we will be conducting it on Zoom as well. We have successfully resolved the previous audio issues with Zoom and can provide a much better experience for those wishing to participate.

For those unable to join us in person for the meeting, here is a link for the Zoom meeting access . The meeting id# is 849 7921 2951 and the password is 731033. A note regarding Zoom: please visit this link and create a Zoom account prior to the meeting if you do not already have one. This is KEY. Once you have an account, you may CLICK THIS LINK or enter the meeting id# and password. We will be monitoring this online and admit you to the meeting via Zoom after the 9am worship service concludes and we set up for the meeting.

Lee Health will be back on campus Sunday, November 15 from 8a-12:30p so we can participate in another blood drive. This is such a simple way to serve & love our neighbors and we'd love your support. Appointments are required and you can reserve your time slot by CLICKING HERE.

Nov. 15: Congregational Meeting following 9am service
Nov. 21: Prayer Gathering on campus
Nov. 29: Return to 9:30am and 11am services
Dec. 2: Jingle Jam Christmas Party for Families
Dec. 6: Congregational Meeting following 9:30am service

We'd love for you to join us on Saturday, November 21 for our prayer meeting. We'll meet in Room 212 of the Education Building and welcome any amount of time you can make available as we pray corporately for our nation, our church and needs throughout the world.

Full children's ministry and Common Ground for 6th-12th graders has resumed each Sunday morning at 9:30am! At 9:30am, we'll offer the Parent Network & Restoration classes for adults. Parents: if you're attending a class at 9:30am, please drop your children off, proceed to class and then after class go ahead to worship in the sanctuary. The children will not be joining parents in the contemporary service for the rest of 2020 and they will remain in children's ministry until the conclusion of the 11a service.

The Bereans class will meet immediately following the 9am service in Room 206.

We are also continuing to offer overflow seating for both Sunday services in Room 210.

Beginning November 29, we'll be returning to our

9:30am traditional and 11am contemporary worship services.

Session and staff have worked hard to balance out the space and time the many thriving ministries at New Hope are given on campus each week. They've taken into consideration CDC guidelines, the measures being taken by the Lee County School District and created a plan so all age groups can enjoy time on campus each week. As time progresses and conditions are more favorable, we will seek to add more in person activities back to our schedule. If you have additional questions or concerns, please contact one of the elders or Pastor Mike.

We're collecting Thanksgiving turkeys and canned sweet potatoes to benefit We Care Outreach. The turkeys may be frozen or thawed and need to be dropped off to the church by Friday, November 20 at noon. If you'd like more information or to organize a collection in your neighborhood, please contact Jim Mayer at jmayer@newhopefortmyers.org. We appreciate your generosity and help in feeding our neighbors this holiday season.

We urge you to stay spiritually connected with your church family and join us for weekly Sunday worship as well as checking out the videos from our staff and pastors on the Experience New Hope channel. We’re continuing to pray and if you have concerns about our plans to meet in person or have a prayer need, please do not hesitate to reach out to Pastor Mike at mike@newhopefortmyers.org or 813.368.1680. Don’t forget to check out our safety measures and plans for gathering again on campus, along with the service time details by clicking the SITUATION UPDATE button above!

With Love,
Your New Hope Team
