Happy Friday, Church Family!

December is here and we kicked it off in a BIG way with our Jingle Jam celebration on the 1st! Hundreds of folks gathered for the Christmas party big enough for the whole family and enjoyed an evening of food, fun, and fellowship! Be sure to check out some of the photos below!

Pastor Mike is continuing on Advent series on "The Song of Christmas" this Sunday and we'll also be taking communion. Be sure to join us in person or online!

Join us in a Festival of Traditional Christmas Lessons and Carols on Sunday, December 5 at 3pm.  This festival service has its roots back to the great cathedrals of England, where the Scripture lessons and music move us deliberately from Advent into Christmastide. The service will be led by choir, organ, piano, soloists, and readers. This free concert is open to the public and a wonderful opportunity to invite friends to experience New Hope!

We'll have a congregational meeting on Sunday, December 5 at 10:45am to vote on the proposed slate of deacons, elders, and trustee put forth by the nominating committee. The nominees for deacon are: Judy Clark, Paul Gorny, Steve McKinnon, and Kris Newlin. The nominations for elder are: Doug Keno, Sandy Knipe, Mark Myers, Ken Walker, and Rodney Woosley, with Dan Miller nominated for trustee.

Special thanks to the nominating committee: David Carpenter, Al Cason, Candy Engelman, Jim Glatz, Dick Grosse, Linda Hart, and Mike Scales for their diligent work.

For those unable to join us in person for the meeting, here is a link for the Zoom meeting. The meeting id# is 898 0601 7632 and the password is 225237.

A note regarding Zoom: Please visit this link and create a Zoom account prior to the meeting if you do not already have one. This is KEY. Once you have an account, you may CLICK THIS LINK or enter the meeting id# and password. We will be monitoring this online and admit you to the meeting via Zoom after the 9:30am worship service concludes and the meeting will begin at 10:45am.

Oh the weather outside is . . . ok, it's Florida, so the weather outside is beautiful! Join us on Wednesday, December 15 at 6:30pm for "Sounds of the Season."  The evening will include both sacred and secular songs of Christmas, led by guest organist Rudy Lucente of Philadelphia along with Ben and Katie Ball. In addition, the audience will have the opportunity to sing along on many favorite songs!

It's basketball season and we are once again

supporting the Dunbar High School team!

We are hoping that you will consider underwriting the cost of a pregame meal for the team. To sponsor a meal, please contact Larry Harvey at 239.822.6535 or leharvey1@yahoo.com. Click here to see the dates for upcoming games – every game is an opportunity to sponsor a meal. Larry can let you know the cost of the meal for your selected game date. Sponsorship donations can made to New Hope by indicating "DBC"(Dunbar Boosters Club) in the memo line and given to Brad in the office.

For more information about the Dunbar Boosters Club, please contact leader Barney Pultz  at 724.350.4909 or heyheybp@comcast.net.

All giving to New Hope for the 2021 tax year must be received or postmarked by Friday, December 31. Thank you for your continued generosity!

HOW TO PARTICIPATE IN COMMUNION IF YOU

ARE PART OF THE ONLINE NEW HOPE FAMILY.

1. Purchase grape juice or wine
2. Purchase Bread or Baked Crackers
- Unleavened bread is the best expression of the "bread" element. Unleavened bread simply is bread baked without a rising agent (most large grocery stores stock unleavened bread), but you can select any bread of your choice.
3. Be Ready at Home with Your Elements
- Pastor Mike will direct you along with those who are gathered at the church through properly receiving communion. All you need to do is follow along online individually, as a family or with your group.

SCRIPTURE REFERENCES FOR PERSONAL USE
Matthew 26:26-30; Mark 14:22-26; Luke 22:19-20; 1 Corinthians 11:23-29

We urge you to stay spiritually connected with your church family and join us for weekly Sunday worship on campus at 9:30am and 11am or online, as well as checking out the videos from our staff and pastors on the Experience New Hope channel. We’re continuing to pray and if you have concerns about our plans to meet in person or have a prayer need, please do not hesitate to reach out to Pastor Mike at mike@newhopefortmyers.org or 813.368.1680.

With Love,
Your New Hope Team
