Tanya is a “one-of-a-kind” individual who has a passion to help people in need. More than 25 years ago, she sensed God’s call to do something concrete to help needy people here in Lee County. Addiction, homelessness, and abuse were rampant and she was determined to address these needs. Even though this is a messy business, she has committed herself to help. She developed a series of recovery programs, several houses for homeless people (men and women), a program of providing meals on a regular basis, and a listening ear to any adults in need.
Tanya’s focus is to bring people into a relationship with Jesus because she recognizes that it is only through the power of Christ that people can be delivered from the power of sin. She hosts a weekly Bible study for any who will come.
New Hope has come alongside Tanya by providing peanut butter and jelly sandwiches once a month. Additionally, we work to provide a meal at least once a week for about 80-100 homeless people. If you would be willing to help with one of those meals, please contact Jim Mayer at firstname.lastname@example.org.
