In the search for a Senior Pastor, the Search Committee is grounded in faith as illustrated in Hebrews, Chapter 11. In faith...
We are thrilled to announce that the Senior Pastor search officially moved from Stage 2, Developing Candidate Profiles, to Stage 3, Finding Candidates. One of the essential components for defining the Senior Pastor opportunity at New Hope, and recruiting candidates, is the Opportunity Profile which was recently completed by NL Moore who is leading the recruitment and application process.
A one-page Opportunity Snapshot summarizes the full Opportunity Profile. The Snapshot with a link to the full Profile can be found in New Hope’s entry on NL Moore’s website at nlmoore.com/resources/current-searches
As we serve the Lord let us be ready, yet remain humble and open to His direction, for "A man's mind plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps." (Prov. 16:9) Lord, keep us alert to Your guidance and always faithful to the tasks You have given us.
Purpose and Authority of the Senior Pastor Search Committee
The role of pastor in the Evangelical Presbyterian Church is that of a Teaching Elder called to serve a local church by the congregation. Elected by and responsible to the congregation, the Senior Pastor Search Committee is tasked with prayerfully seeking and nominating a candidate for the position of senior pastor. Following a diligent search and review process, and with concurrence of the Presbytery, a nominee for senior pastor of New Hope Presbyterian Church will be presented to the congregation for acceptance.
