In the search for a Senior Pastor, the Search Committee is grounded in faith as illustrated in Hebrews, Chapter 11.
In faith...

  • Three nationally recognized pastor search firms have been interviewed by the Search Committee. If a contract with the recommended firm is approved by Session, it will greatly increase the probability of finding the best candidate for New Hope’s new Senior Pastor.
  • Pray continually and be secure in your hope that God will lead us to the pastor of His choosing. Romans 5:5 says, "And hope does not disappoint us, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit which has been given to us."

Purpose and Authority of the Senior Pastor Search Committee

The role of pastor in the Evangelical Presbyterian Church is that of a Teaching Elder called to serve a local church by the congregation. Elected by and responsible to the congregation, the Senior Pastor Search Committee is tasked with prayerfully seeking and nominating a candidate for the position of senior pastor. Following a diligent search and review process, and with concurrence of the Presbytery, a nominee for senior pastor of New Hope Presbyterian Church will be presented to the congregation for acceptance.
