GIVE THE GIFT OF LIFE:
DONATE BLOOD
GIVING BLOOD SAVES LIVES
Whole blood donations are processed into a variety of blood components. Each donation can save two lives – people with leukemia, cancer, anemia and those undergoing surgery for illness or injury. Your donation will help ensure an adequate supply for both children and adults who are patients in Lee Health.
GIVING BLOOD COULD SAVE YOUR LIFE
You will receive a free mini-physical; we will check your temperature, pulse, blood pressure, test for anemia, free non-fasting cholesterol screen and blood typing. Medical studies show that men who gave blood three times a year reduced their chances of a heart attack by more than 50 percent by reducing the amount of iron being stored in the body. Medical evidence shows that too much iron in the human body can lead to colon cancer and clogging of the arteries – – which in turn may lead to a heart attack.
Our first Blood Drive of 2025 will be on Sunday, January 5, from 8am-1pm.
GIVING BLOOD HELPS YOUR COMMUNITY
Lee Memorial Blood Center does not export blood. All blood donated stays to help the patients within Lee Health, which includes the only Trauma Center within a 5-county radius, the Children’s Hospital and the Regional Cancer Center. 500+ pints are needed each week to treat our patients!
