New Hope eNews - February 27, 2026

Join us this Sunday, March 1,
as we celebrate The Lord's Supper
during both of our worship services.

The first Sunday of each month, we encourage you to give above and beyond your normal tithes and offerings towards our Care and Compassion Fund which is used to help people in our church and community who are having temporary financial struggles. Simply indicate "Care and Compassion" on the memo line of your check or on your envelope this Sunday or click here to give online.

If you attend our 11am Contemporary Service and would like to familiarize yourself with the songs we will be singing this Sunday, here are the links to check them out:

Help us spread kindness – one sandwich at a time! We’re inviting our church family to support our local homeless community by donating PB&J sandwiches for We Care Outreach. These simple meals make a meaningful difference and are an easy, hands-on way to serve our neighbors in need. Drop off your PB&J sandwiches at the church on Thursday, March 5, by noon. Every sandwich is a tangible expression of love and care. Thank you for helping us nourish both bodies and spirits in our community!

Women Serving in Singlehood will be on Saturday, March 14 from 11am–1:30pm. This gathering is for women 18 and up who are single, divorced, or widowed to come enjoy lunch, connect with other women, and hear an encouraging message from our guest speaker, Shari McMinn. This is an opportunity to build friendships, be refreshed, and be reminded of God’s purpose for your life. The cost is $10 per person and we’d love for you to invite a friend to join you.

What is Easter Egg Hunt-A-Trunk?

A fun, Easter outreach where kids will go trunk to trunk (like a Trunk-or-Treat!) collecting candy-filled Easter eggs. It will be a completely FREE event for our community and will include free food, inflatables, lots of games and activities, and other fun surprises!

Why are we doing this event?

To meet our neighbors, build relationships, and warmly welcome families from our community to New Hope. This is our first year for this event and we need everyone’s help to make it a blessing to our community!

How can YOU help?

• Donate Candy!

Drop off individually wrapped candy (no chocolate) at the church between now and Sunday, March 22.

• Join the Egg Filling Party!

Help us fill Easter eggs with candy on Sunday, March 22, right after our 11am worship service. Lunch will be provided.

• Host or serve at the event!

Host and decorate a trunk, greet families, help with food or games, or help with set up/clean up!

ECO-TOUR RECAP

Our group had a wonderful time exploring the beauty of Southwest Florida on the Babcock Ranch Eco Tour. Even though it was a chilly day, that didn’t dampen our spirits! We bundled up and enjoyed learning about the area’s history, native plants, and incredible local wildlife. We spotted alligators, cattle, deer, hogs and birds in their natural habitats, the tour was both educational and fun. Most of all, it was a joy to spend the day together, sharing laughs and making memories in God’s beautiful creation.

EARLY CHILDHOOD MINISTRY UPDATE

Great things are happening in our early childhood ministry! We started the year learning that the Bible teaches us the BEST things – a great foundation for the rest of the year. Now we are learning about Jesus’ great love for everyone. Our classrooms have also been undergoing a makeover! In addition to updating several supplies and toys, we have new tables and wall art in our two main rooms, making them even more inviting to the littlest attendees of New Hope.

HIGH SCHOOL RETREAT RECAP

We took 31 high school students and eight adults to Camp Southwind last weekend and had an absolute blast! Thank you for your prayers! Students were reminded of God’s steadfast love, discussed lessons as a group, and studied Jonah 2:1-10 individually. They also enjoyed beach volleyball, a swing called The Screamer, swimming, canoeing, 9-square, and Ultimate Frisbee. In a very meaningful experience on Saturday night, students were given letters from their families, and leaders received cards, too. High schoolers should plan now for Summer Camp from June 8-13 in Brevard, NC! For more info, contact Ashleigh Blythe at ashleigh@newhopefortmyers.org.

FIG LEAF DONATIONS RECAP

Collectively, last month New Hope donated over 170 bags of clothing and hygiene items for Into The Jordan's Fig Leaf Boutique! Thank you! These items will be used directly to fund the ministry of love and healing from trauma of those who have been sexually trafficked or sexually exploited.

If you haven't had a chance to support this ministry by visiting the Boutique, they are located at 2701 Cleveland Ave, Suite 120, Fort Myers, FL 33901, and are open Tuesday through Friday from 10am-4pm.
