New Hope eNews - March 6, 2026

One of our core values at New Hope is Lavish Grace – drawn from Paul's teaching in Ephesians, where we discover a God who is breathtakingly extravagant with His grace and mercy. He doesn't measure it out in careful portions. He pours it out.

That changes everything about how we treat the people around us.

We want to be a church that extends that same lavish grace to others – that runs toward the hurting, stands beside the marginalized, and refuses to let the forgotten stay forgotten. We want to be the kind of community that goes out of its way to embrace the people the world finds hard to love.

Because that's exactly what God did with us.

This is not just a vision for how we serve – it's the heartbeat of how we gather. When we come together each weekend to worship, we want every person who walks through our doors to feel the warmth of genuine welcome. We want the lonely to find friendship here. We want the rejected to find acceptance here. We want people to encounter something they didn't expect – grace that is real, grace that is generous, grace that actually changes things.

We want the lavish grace of God to pour so freely through our lives that it spills into the lives of everyone around us. Let’s make New Hope known as a place where the lavish grace of God is infectious and irresistible.

In Christ,

NO PRODUCE STAND THIS SUNDAY

(JOIN US FOR TIME OF PRAYER)

Local farms have been drastically affected by recent weather events. Consequently, we will not be able to host the produce stand until these farms have been able to harvest their re-planted spring crops. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Please be praying for local farmers - including for Kim and Mike Jamerson - and we will let you know when the produce stand is returning.

PRAYER OPPORTUNITY: Please join us this Sunday, March 8, at 10:40am in the church backyard where we usually hold the produce stand. Students and members of our congregation will spend time praying with and for Kim and Mike Jamerson.

If you attend our 11am Contemporary Service and would like to familiarize yourself with the songs we will be singing this Sunday, here are the links to check them out:

SCAM EMAILS WARNING:

Please be aware & don't fall for scams!

We have once again been receiving an influx of reports of scam emails that appear to come from New Hope pastors, staff, and leaders. Please never respond to or interact with these emails! Our pastors, staff, and leaders will never send emails asking for gift cards, payments, credit card info, bank account info, personal info, etc. in this way. If you receive an email you’re unsure about, the first thing to do is look at the actual email address that the email came from - not the name that appears there, as scammers can put any name they want to there (including a pastor’s, friend’s, or relative’s name). In most email programs, you can click on or hover over the name in the “From” field and it will show the actual “from” email address. If the email address does not end with @newhopefortmyers.org, then it is not from one of our pastors or staff members. You can use this same method for any other possible scam emails as well - check the “from” email address and see if it’s from an official one! These scam attempts are not due to staff email accounts being hacked. They are scammers who use their own email addresses and try to make it look as though they are coming from trusted people in order to deceive and steal. These scammers are going to greater and greater lengths to fool people, even going as far as including a photo of the person they are pretending to be. If you are still unsure after looking at the “from” email address, be safe and don’t reply to the email and don’t click links in the email – simply delete it. Better safe than sorry! You can always contact the pastor, staff member, or leader directly by calling the church office at 239-274-1230, emailing them directly through a new email (usually their first name and then @newhopefortmyers.org), stopping by the church office, or finding them at church on Sunday. Unfortunately, there will always be dishonest people trying to take advantage of others, but if you stay aware and be proactive, you can avoid being their next victim!

Women Serving in Singlehood will be on Saturday, March 14 from 11am–1:30pm. This gathering is for women 18 and up who are single, divorced, or widowed to come enjoy lunch, connect with other women, and hear an encouraging message from our guest speaker, Shari McMinn. This is an opportunity to build friendships, be refreshed, and be reminded of God’s purpose for your life. The cost is $10 per person and we’d love for you to invite a friend to join you.

The evening will include a traditional-style Jewish Sabbath meal featuring baked chicken, sides, and dessert as we walk through the elements of the Passover celebration together.

Please note: Childcare is available for infants through PreK. Children Kindergarten and older are encouraged to sit with their families and fully participate in the meal and learning experience.

THE B. FAMILY

(Sensitive Location)

Celebrating 10 Years in the Middle East!

This year marks the B. Family's ten year anniversary of living and serving in the Middle East. While they’re currently on sabbatical and celebrating away from their Lebanese home (and favorite Arab foods!), they rejoice in all God has done. Over the past decade, they’ve seen lives transformed as Syrians have come to faith, been discipled, and stepped into ministry. They’re also thankful for the many personal joys – youth group, fellowship with gospel workers, regional gatherings, and the beauty of the mountains and sea.

They are now midway through their sabbatical. Phase one focused on rest, abiding, and delighting in the Lord. Time in Scotland has included enjoying the outdoors (rain and mud included!), meaningful friendships, concerts, creative pursuits, and the beauty of God’s creation. In phase two, they are prayerfully reflecting on how God has uniquely shaped them and how He may be leading in the next season of ministry. Next week they travel to Turkey for a regional conference before returning home to complete their sabbatical.

The B. Family is deeply grateful for your faithful prayers, encouragement, and support through the years.
