High School Summer Trip Recap

We had an incredible week at Southland’s camp in Brevard, North Carolina with 23 students and 8 leaders! The days were full of adventure and community-building through Bubble Soccer, swimming in the lake, hiking, exploring Sliding Rock, and more.

The week was also full of answered prayers and God moving deeply in the hearts of both students and leaders. Each day, we had time set aside for “Psalming,” where students were encouraged to journal through a Psalm a day. We also attended daily sessions and breakout seminars, where we had the opportunity to learn about a variety of topics ranging from listening to the Holy Spirit to looking out for cults. We all had time to reflect, process, and connect with God on a personal level, and it was very fruitful spiritually.

Thank you for your support and prayers! This week would not have been possible without this wonderful community.

Student Ministry Car Wash

On Friday, June 26th, from 10am-12pm, our student ministry will be hosting a car wash as part of Serve Your City Week! Pull up to the road by the sheds and youth room and join us for free lemonade, a car wash, and conversation. Donations are welcome and will be going towards the missions efforts of Sarai B.

New Hope exists to glorify God and make disciples by living out the gospel together. As a leader, you are constantly presented with opportunities for discipleship, having the chance to model the love of Christ in all of your interactions with others. The Global Leadership Summit provides practical and critical tools to help you develop your leadership skills and knowledge with other like-minded individuals who are striving to do the same. We will be a host of The Global Leadership Summit on August 6–7.

We are doing a "baby bottles" drive for Verity during the month of June. You can take a bottle from the Lobby at New Hope and fill it with cash, a check, or scan the included QR code to make a gift online. Your partnership in this way fuels the mission to uphold the sanctity of human life by providing services that encourage and equip men and women to choose life for their baby. You can find out more about Verity by visiting the Mission Table or emailing Rachel Frey at rachel@newhopefortmyers.org.

THE DEPKE FAMILY

Tyler, Brittany, Danielle, and Joanna live in West Africa among French-speaking people groups with an organization called ILAD, which stands for International Literacy and Development. Brittany is trained in English translation work and Tyler’s work is farm-training for a fruit tree nursery that also serves as a demonstration farm for the village the Depkes live in.

Over the next several months, the Depke family is traveling stateside visiting church partners, family, and attending work-related conferences.

Give major thanks with us that the families who attended FamCon contributed a special mission offering to the Depke’s on-farm house project of over $520! This translates to over 350 bricks for the building!

Please pray specifically that the Depkes would:

  • Make a vital connection with a full-time kid helper to join them when they return to West Africa in the Fall.
  • Find a starlink internet provider in their village which would make work a lot more convenient.
  • Make OT summary progress even while in the US.
  • See God’s provision of every remaining brick needed for building their new family home on the farm.
