WEDNESDAY FAMILY NIGHT KICKOFF

We began our fall semester of Wednesday nights last week with 170 people of all ages gathering! From preschool through high school as well as adults in MOMtourage and Fight Club, it was an energetic start to our midweek experience! BIG thanks to all of our volunteer leaders who make these ministries a success!

It's not too late to join our Women's Bible Studies! One group meets Wednesdays from 10am-noon and is doing a study titled "Open Your Bible." The other group meets Fridays from 10am-11:30am and is doing a study called "Maturing in Christ."

VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT:

PAT THOMPSON

Pat Thompson has a heart for women’s ministry, but her path to leadership wasn’t immediate. “I was the middle of three daughters and raised in the church, but really did not know Christ,” Pat reflects.

Pat and Dave were married just after her freshman year of college. Dave, a career Air Force Officer, led the family to various assignments, which meant Pat took college courses wherever they moved, all while raising two children. Pat and Dave have now been married for 61 years and are blessed with six grandchildren.

It wasn’t until her early forties, through Friendship Bible Coffees, that Pat surrendered her life to Christ. “As I spiritually matured, God gave me a passion for leading women’s Bible studies,” she shares.

Following Dave’s retirement, the couple relocated to Fort Myers, where Pat completed her undergraduate degree and earned two graduate degrees in biblical studies and Christian counseling from seminary. She spent a decade counseling biblically and served as the Women’s Ministry Director at a local church.

In 2014, Pat and Dave joined New Hope, and Pat began leading groups in the Women’s Bible Study, "The Well." By 2023, she stepped into the role of Women’s Ministry Director, and is supported by a wonderful team of women. Though Pat didn’t foresee her future as a women’s ministry leader when she was younger, her journey shows that God can call us to new paths at any time if we remain open to Him.

FAITH PARTNERS INTERNATIONAL

New Hope has been involved with Pastor Jr. Ramirez in the Dominican Republic for almost 18 years. Over those years, God has blessed the ministry he has overseen to the point where a small, struggling group has grown into a large, thriving church. They now have two services each Sunday and are bursting at the seams so he is looking at a larger building in the same area to be able to accommodate the growing crowds. Pray for God’s guidance and provision.
