"HOPE FOR OUR CITY" LUNCHEON

Come to our 9:30am or 11am service this Sunday, September 21 and learn what some of our local ministry partners are doing to fight against human trafficking. Then, plan to join us for a deeper Q&A session and luncheon in Room 212 after the 11am service (*Due to the delicate nature of this topic, it is not recommended for children under the age of 14). The cost is $5/person or $15 max/family (spouses and their kids).

If you attend our 11am Contemporary Service and would like to familiarize yourself with the songs we will be singing this Sunday, here are the links to check them out:

EARLY CHILDHOOD MINISTRY UPDATE!

In August, the kids in Early Childhood learned about all that God created. Through the month of September, they are discovering that God has plans for everything that He made, including them! He created them in His very own image as our memory verse of the month reminds us, “‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ says the Lord.” (Jeremiah 29:11 NLT)

We would love to have you join our team of volunteers who serve on Sundays in the PreK room at either 9:30am or 11am. The lesson and all materials are provided for you. Please reach out to Kellie Witenko if you have any questions or are interested: kellie@newhopefortmyers.org

Lee Memorial’s Blood Drive will be at New Hope on Sunday, October 5, from 8am-1pm. All blood donated will stay in Lee County and give life to those in our community.

DIFFERENT BY DESIGN

Different By Design is a unique opportunity for 6th-12th grade girls and boys to meet separately for an activity and Bible study each month. Girls learned a new Bible study technique and made pressed flower votives while boys met for basketball and a message from Jeremiah 9 on humility.

We’re going to the farm! Join us at ECHO (17391 Durrance Road. North Fort Myers, FL 33917) on Saturday, October 4 at 10am for a tour of the farm to learn more about this interesting ministry. A time for refreshments and fellowship will follow. ECHO’s Global Farm is anything but typical and we have the opportunity to see firsthand one of our local mission partners and how they are GROWING the Kingdom. Through the tour, you’ll experience farming at its most creative, with unique demonstrations, plants, and techniques being used to help farmers and urban gardeners in developing countries. This is a church wide event and open to all ages! See you there!

STUDENT MINISTRY LOCAL MISSION TRIP

Our youth ministry is partnering with CityTakers SWFL tomorrow, September 20, at 10am. We will be meeting at the church for breakfast, worship, a gospel message, and evangelism training. We will then drive vans to various Fort Myers neighborhoods to distribute groceries and share the gospel. Students will help hand out groceries and converse with members of the community.

Thank You for the "Back-to-School" Drive!

Last month, New Hope contributed school uniforms, blankets, and food for local schools Colonial Elementary and Fort Myers High School. Thanks to your donations, students and families in need at Colonial have been provided with uniforms and snacks when they were not able to come to school with their own.

Cathy Weber, New Hope member and school social worker, writes:
"Thank you New Hope Presbyterian for helping to fill the Fort Myers High School food pantry! We have approximately 1800 students and it really is such a blessing to know if a student comes to school hungry or is going home to an empty refrigerator that we can immediately meet that need with food from the pantry until we see them again at school. Some of our students have temporary homes, are designated homeless, are living in a hotel, or are going between homes frequently and while we can’t always fix the family circumstances, we are able to ensure they have food for the night because of your help! The needs can feel overwhelming so we are grateful for your partnership with us in this way so we know we aren’t alone in this work. We can’t help our students learn if their basic needs aren’t being met, so thank you so much for helping us ensure our students aren’t struggling with food insecurity so they can focus on learning!”
