New Hope eNews - November 7, 2025

"Heavenly Father, we thank You for the selfless service of our veterans who have courageously fought and sacrificed for our freedom. Bless them and their families with peace and comfort. May we honor their bravery by striving for peace in our world. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

KIDS' MINISTRY UPDATE

New Hope Kids Ministry is helping children build their faith from the ground up. This month’s theme, “Bedrock: Building Confidence in God, Block by Block,” reminds us that real confidence means living like we truly believe God is with us. As our kids learn stories of men and women who built their lives on faith, they’re discovering that God’s character is the solid foundation they can always stand on. We’re also wrapping up our exciting Wednesday night study on the Armor of God, where our kids are learning how to stand strong and live boldly for Jesus every day. It’s been such a joy to see their faith grow—and there’s always room for more helping hands! If you have a heart for kids and want to make a lasting difference, we’d love to have you join our Kids Ministry volunteer team.

DUNBAR BASKETBALL BOOSTERS

Basketball season is almost here and the Dunbar Tigers are ramping up for their first home game vs. Naples on November 20 at ‌7:30pm! Grab a friend and join New Hope as we cheer them on! Stop by the Mission Table in the Lobby at the church to find the “Dunbar Corner” where you can grab a season schedule, sign up for the Boosters enews, or give to sponsor pregame meals for the team. Email Rob Scharlau at rscharlau@comcast.net for more details.

STUDENT MINISTRY PRODUCE STAND

The Jamersons have generously provided our student ministry with an amazing opportunity to sell their local produce at New Hope! Join us as we are testing out the produce stand this Sunday, November 9, from 10:30-11am and 12-12:30pm in the church backyard! It will be 100% student-led and all proceeds will be donated to the student ministry’s local and global missions fund. Note: Purchases at the produce stand are CASH ONLY.

THE KING'S BRASS CONCERT

Save the Date: December 14 at 6pm!

Experience the magic of Christmas with Tim Zimmerman and the King's Brass as they bring the spirit of the holidays to life with their remarkable musical performances blending classical, jazz, and sacred brass sounds. Celebrate the timeless traditions of Christmas through an evening of joyous music and fun with your church family and friends. We hope to see you there!

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD

New Hope is participating in OCC this year in a new way…as a central drop-off location for boxes! We need people to pray, pack, record numbers, and greet during our collection hours November 17-24. If you have interest in serving this year with OCC for New Hope, please contact Rachel Frey at rachel@newhopefortmyers.org. Also, please join us in praying for large collections this season and for the glory of God’s name to reach many far and new places!

Please take a box from the Lobby at the church, fill it, and return it to New Hope by November 16. If you are unable to shop, you may build a shoebox online, which will reach a hard-to-access community in a country whose borders make it difficult for the shoeboxes to be allowed in. Click here to build a shoebox online at newhopefortmyers.org/occ.

Colonial Elementary School

For many years, Colonial, a Title 1 elementary school around the corner, and New Hope have had a strong partnership. Many families and students of the school have been impacted through the generous donations of school supplies, mentoring, literacy help, and volunteering for events. Several New Hope members recently kicked off a new season of Good News Club, which meets at Colonial weekly to share the Gospel with students in fun and interactive ways. Are you wondering how you might get involved in New Hope’s partnership? We are looking for individuals able to commit as a weekly reading buddy with a first, second, or third grade student. Would you prayerfully consider joining our team to boost literacy among the younger students attending the school, many of whom come from families where English was not the first language. If you’d like to learn more about the reading opportunity, please reach out to Rachel Frey - rachel@newhopefortmyers.org.

Join us in thanking God for a strong school partnership and pray with us that God would continue to equip us to love and serve our neighbors at Colonial in the best way possible! Donations to the school are needed all year long and currently they are in need of a replacement dining table for their teachers lounge.
