NHP KIDS ARE JAMMIN'!

This December, NHP Kids are singing loudly as we jam out to our Christmas Playlist to celebrate Jesus, God’s greatest gift! Because of Jesus, it’s possible for us to have a relationship with God that will last forever. As we get in the mix this Christmas season, let’s take time to remember the reason we celebrate in the first place: Jesus, the greatest gift the world has ever known!

VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT:

BILL ENSLEN

Bill Enslen grew up in rural Indiana. After completing high school, he joined the US Navy, where he served for six years. Following his discharge, he secured a job at Honeywell in Wabash, Indiana. Though he was not brought up in a Christian household, he would often drive past the First Baptist Church on his way to work and felt compelled to attend. Recalling his transformative experience, Bill says, “Soon after hearing the Gospel of Christ preached, the Lord called me to receive Him as my Lord and Savior; I was 23 years old.”

In 1986, Bill and his wife, Dorothy, began attending Covenant Presbyterian Church. Two decades later, when Dorothy passed away, Bill found comfort in his faith, knowing the Lord was still by his side. When New Hope was founded, Bill felt a calling to join. “My wife Cindy and I were married at New Hope in 2009 by Jim Mayer’s brother-in-law, Howard Biddulph,” he shares. Together, Bill and Cindy are blessed with a large family, comprising six adult children (three each), 18 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

Bill has devotedly served in various roles at New Hope, including Deacon, Elder several terms, as part of the nominating committee, and teaching the Living Word Sunday school class alongside Jim LaRue. Throughout his life, Bill attributes his love for the church to his faith, stating, “I have failed Him many times, but He has never left nor forsaken me.”
