Dear New Hope Family,
New Hope is governed by a leadership team called Session. They are ordained Elders who care for the spiritual development of our church body and they establish the policies and procedures for our governance. Deacons are ordained to care and minister to the physical needs of our church body. It is an office of service to one another. Qualifications for these offices are described in Scripture in 1 Timothy 3:1-13, Titus 1:6-9, and 1 Peter 5:1-3.
During the first three weeks of December, you have the opportunity to nominate people for positions of elder and deacon. To nominate someone, you must be a member yourself and the person you nominate also needs to be a member. We ask that you also confirm with your nominee before you nominate them to know if they are willing to serve in this capacity.
There are some important questions to ask as you consider nominating someone: Do they support New Hope and are they actively involved in some form of ministry? Is there a visible effort in the person to live a life pleasing to God, demonstrating Christlikeness? Are they a person of prayer and of the word? Are they a servant? Do they believe and practice the truths of Scripture? Remember that an elder is a shepherd over God’s flock, a teacher of God’s flock, and a servant to God’s flock. A deacon ministers to the needs of the congregation through care and compassion.
Nomination forms are available in the Lobby at the Welcome Desk or online at newhopefortmyers.org/nominate. Nominations will close on December 21, 2025.

EARLY CHILDHOOD MINISTRY UPDATES
Christmas is such a special time of year. It’s filled with wonder and excitement.... and gifts! We want to help our preschoolers remember the most important gift ever was the one God gave to us: Jesus. “God loved the world so much that He gave His only Son” (John 3:16, GNT). Join us as we pray that Christmas will become a time when our preschoolers and their families remember that God gave us Jesus. We hope the lessons they learn in our rooms will help them see reminders all around them of the true story of Christmas.
These pictures are from our November lesson about the Bible story of Ruth and Naomi. We always have fun learning about God's faithfulness in our Early Childhood ministry!
New Hope is going to the theater! Join us for lunch and an award-winning show on Wednesday, January 21, at 11:15am! The cost of $78/person includes lunch, dessert, beverage, and gratuities. Monday, December 15, is the last day to register for this outing, so if you’d like to join us for this special time of fellowship and fun, please be sure click here to sign up and pay by then to reserve your ticket. We’d love for you to join us!

CITY TAKERS
City Takers SWFL isn’t just an organization, it’s a movement of hope. It is boots on the ground, serving the hearts of neighborhoods across Southwest Florida. From food distribution to mentorship, community outreach to evangelism, they’re giving back what was freely given: love, faith, and the Gospel message.
City Takers exists as a mission hub and a lighthouse, a place where churches, families, and individuals unite to make Jesus known in real and practical ways. Together, City Takers is building bridges between the church and the streets, bringing light to dark places, and meeting the needs of those who’ve been forgotten. New Hope partners with City Takers through outreach, hospitality, prayer, and evangelism. Donations of groceries, clothing, and diapers help to serve families weekly.
Every seed sown, every hour volunteered, and every prayer lifted helps City Takers to reach more families, more youth, and more communities with the message of Jesus Christ.
