STAFF SPOTLIGHT:
WELCOME RACHEL FREY
We are thrilled to extend a heartfelt welcome to our newest team member at New Hope, Rachel Frey! Rachel will be stepping into the role of Director of Community Outreach, where she will engage our congregation in serving our city with compassion and purpose. Through local partnerships with missions and churches, she will lead New Hope in truly being the hands and feet of Jesus right here in our community.
Rachel’s journey is fueled by her deep passion for discipleship and mission outreach. Growing up in a family rooted in faith, she is the third generation of missionaries. Her experiences are both rich and diverse, having lived among believers in rural western Uganda and completing cross-cultural training with her husband, Craig, both in the U.S. and in Brazil.
“I have a love for cultures of the world, for welcoming new and old friends to sit at our family’s table to share a meal, and growing together through hard and good life things” says Rachel. We are so excited to have her on our team, where her passion for others will undoubtedly inspire and transform our community!
Make plans to join us for FamCon 25 from June 5-7 as we welcome children and families to our campus for TRUE NORTH – an adventure in learning to trust Jesus in a wild world! We need many volunteers to make this event a success! Click here to see how you can get involved!
If you are a student graduating from high school this year, please complete the form at newhopefortmyers.org/senior by April 16 to be honored in our Senior Sunday services on May 11.
EARLY CHILDHOOD UPDATE
One common phrase we hear children repeat is, “Watch this!” They want us to watch their spins and cartwheels, their dance routines, and what their toys can do. We watch with amazement and say, “Wow,” no matter what it is. In March, we taught our preschoolers to watch the One who can do anything. The One who has shown that the power of the Lord is with Him. Who is this One? Jesus, of course! Our Bible stories showed some of the amazing things Jesus was able to do, like allowing the blind man to see by making mud for his eyes, and feeding 5,000 people with just two fish and five loaves of bread. Yes, the month was all about Jesus and how Jesus can do anything!
JUVIE JAIL MINISTRY
Every Monday afternoon, a group of women from New Hope visits with a group of girls in the Juvenile Detention Center. The visit includes games, cookies with lemonade, Bible stories, and a clear gospel presentation. The girls (and the guards) are usually very attentive and appreciate the love shown to them. They write down their prayer requests that are then shared with some of New Hope’s Prayer Warriors. Pray that God would touch their hearts and bring them to faith in Jesus Christ.
