New Hope eNews - May 8, 2026

This Mother’s Day, we celebrate all women — mothers, grandmothers, mentors, and friends — who reflect God’s love in so many ways. Your strength, compassion, and faith make a lasting impact on our church and community. Please pick up a token of our appreciation as you exit the service this Sunday, May 10.

If you attend our 11am Contemporary Service and would like to familiarize yourself with the songs we will be singing this Sunday, here are the links to check them out:

FamCon is coming June 4-6!

FamCon is a blast for kids, but its main purpose is to strengthen families and help children build a faith that lasts! Parents will drop their kids off at New Hope on Thursday and Friday, June 4-5, to enjoy creatively fun ministry from 6-8:30pm. Then on Saturday, June 6, from 9am-12pm, parents will join in the fun and learning with their children. When parents and kids spend intentional time learning and laughing together, everyone's faith and relationships are strengthened!

Register your family!

If you have kids who have completed VPK up to completed 5th grade, register now! Spaces are limited and registration closes when space is full. Click here to register!

Sign up to volunteer!

Adults and students (completed 6th-12th grade) can help with providing food for workers, decorating, leading small groups of kids through their FamCon experience, and more! Click here to volunteer!

Pray for all involved in this amazing adventure!

You can grab a FamCon Prayer Calendar in the Lobby at New Hope on Sunday or click here to view/download it!

Our donation drive for May is supporting FamCon! While you’re at church this Sunday, pick up a brown bag and item list in the Lobby and fill it with items that we need to make FamCon a success!

Volunteer Training

FamCon Volunteer Training is Monday, May 18 at 6:30pm in Room 212. This required training time is for all volunteers who will be serving. It will last no longer than one hour and light refreshments will be served.

Join us Sunday, May 31, from 3-5pm for a special gathering designed to encourage and connect women through faith and fellowship. We will explore the stories of women in the Bible, hear meaningful personal testimonies, enjoy time of connection, and have some fun together with a game. Come be refreshed, inspired, and reminded of your God-given worth!

ECHO SERVE DAY RECAP

Thank you to everyone who came out to ECHO’s farm work morning on April 30. We had an action-packed morning full of serving ECHO with a variety of needs and enjoyed fellowshipping with staff and interns. Big impacts were made: from cleaning intern housing and turning compost piles, to harvesting carrots and climbing the black sapote (chocolate pudding fruit) tree to pick the highest fruits! Stay tuned for New Hope’s next opportunity on the global farm in North Fort Myers - you won’t want to miss it!

YOUTH POOL PARTY RECAP

Thank you to Kim and Mike Jamerson for hosting our end-of-school year Youth Pool Party where the kids enjoyed swimming, mud fights, and exploring the woods. Our summer Fun on the Run calendar will be coming out soon!

THE "N" FAMILY

(Sensitive Location)

The “N" Family moved to a sensitive location last year, immersing themselves in the local language and culture. Alongside a diverse expat team, they’re sharing the gospel through business, education, healthcare, and creative ministries, while supporting discipleship and church leadership. Mr. "N” also makes occasional trips back to their former area of mission work to encourage local leaders.

Please pray for the three following points:

• Two families, one from the US and one from New Zealand, are  raising support and hoping to join the “N" Family’s team this year.

• Mr. "N” is helping in the admin function of sending out workers – currently developing the processes involved, which include orientation, fund-raising, and other training. Pray for the three families involved.

• Mr. & Mrs. "N” are putting together a team for a sensitive ministry  with great potential impact on a very difficult-to-reach group.
