Happy Anniversary!

We are delighted to celebrate Pastor Sheldon's 1-year anniversary with our church! Over the past year, he has truly become part of the family, with inspiring sermons, more books than we can count, and so much care and support for the staff and congregation. As we celebrate this milestone, we want to say a big thank you and look forward to many more years of growth and fellowship together. Happy Anniversary, Pastor Sheldon!

Volunteer Spotlight:
Shari McMinn

Shari McMinn was raised in a Presbyterian church, where she embraced Jesus as her Savior during childhood. Though she later drifted from the church during her college years, God redirected her path alongside her future husband, Cary, who was also overcoming personal challenges. They met and fell in love while working in a hospitality design firm in Denver.

After selling their Denver home, Shari and Cary bought a farm in eastern Colorado, where they raised livestock and their growing family. They enjoyed nearly 30 years of marriage before Cary's sudden passing. As a single parent for a decade, Shari homeschooled their five youngest (of 11) adopted children, all with special needs, and is forever grateful that the Lord, through their church family, met all their needs, blessing them abundantly despite several tragedies.

Three years ago, she relocated to Lehigh Acres. Shari joined New Hope Church with her son, Zane, and now volunteers on the Mission Council and in a juvenile jail ministry. She previously contributed to homeless and disaster relief efforts and mentored young mothers. Shari values intercessory prayer, weekly church involvement, and Bible studies as central to her faith.

Living in southwest Florida, she enjoys warm weather and outdoor activities like beaching and fishing. Shari works remotely for Christian Home Educators of Colorado as their magazine editor and conference coordinator. She's also a public speaker and author of Christian non-fiction books on adoption and family heritage. Despite life's challenges, Shari thrives with the joy only Jesus provides, dedicating her life to fostering strong, stable families.

Student Ministry Update:

Celebrating Seniors!

We celebrated our Seniors on May 7 – the last Wednesday night Common Ground of the school year! The graduates climbed to the roof to soak the younger students with water balloons and we enjoyed walking tacos and cookie cake! We thanked our small group leaders and Seniors for the time they spent investing in the lives of students this year.

Young Life

Many students from our local schools involved in Young Life are on a journey to find abundant life. They often struggle with feelings of desperation, whether it's for love, attention, success, or friendship. Many face challenges like hurt, pain, and brokenness. Young Life provides these students, who may have never attended church or haven't been in a long time, with an opportunity to explore and hear about Jesus in a personal way.

We encourage you to pray for Young Life SWFL and for our faithful leaders, Savannah, Gabriel, and Tyler.
