Beach Night Recap!
We had a blast at Bowditch Beach last week with our student ministry! We played Kan-Jam and beach volleyball, saw three manatees and a few dolphins as we swam in the water, and enjoyed the community time together. Thank you to all who came!
VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT:
CRAIG MARTIN
Craig Martin grew up as part of a family of five on a farm in rural north-central Indiana. From a young age, he was actively involved in athletics, particularly football and basketball, and understood the importance of teamwork in achieving success. This lesson also applies to the church community, where each individual contributes their unique gifts to form one body.
A significant aspect of Craig's childhood was caring for his brother, who became paraplegic at the age of two. "I did not fully grasp the weight of it at the time, but this experience taught me a deep sense of responsibility and compassion," says Craig. Church life was a constant presence in the Martin household, with a strong youth group and a devoted minister playing a crucial role in his spiritual growth. This early foundation was further solidified with his marriage to Jeannie in 1974. Together, they blended their families and built a life centered on faith and rooted in the love of the Lord. Craig considers his family, including 12 grandchildren, his greatest achievement.
In retirement, Craig remains an active member of the Personnel Committee and has served as an Elder for the past three years. He finds joy in serving communion and can often be seen on Sunday mornings warmly greeting attendees as they arrive for worship, always with a big smile on his face. He reflects, "Through all of life’s seasons, I hold to this simple and steadfast truth: God will lead us through every opportunity, whether joyful or difficult."
Fun on the Run!
The student ministry Fun on the Run calendar is off to the races! Outside of the bigger events we’ve been telling you about, we've also enjoyed community time at Chipotle, met up spontaneously at Starbucks for a girls' outing, and had so much fun at our High School Late Night event that we forgot to take pictures! Want to join in the fun? Our next adventure will be going to SkyZone with the middle schoolers this Tuesday, July 8. Make sure to check out our Fun on the Run calendar for details on all of the great fellowship time we have planned this summer!
