GUEST SPEAKER THIS SUNDAY

Rev. Lucas Tanner is the campus minister for Reformed University Fellowship (RUF) at Florida Gulf Coast University. Lucas was born and raised in Naples. He met his wife Bobbilee while studying business at the University of Florida. They got married in November 2004 and have three teenage children: Isaac, Sadie and Molly. Lucas earned a Master of Divinity from Knox Theological Seminary and has been a minister to students for over 20 years. He is an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church in America.

RUF wants to create a fellowship of university students in which every person, regardless of background, personal history, or conviction, can examine the truth claims of reformed Christianity in a non-threatening atmosphere. More than just a ministry on the university campus, RUF seeks to be a ministry for the university. They strive to serve in this unique stage of a student’s life―in the world they live in―exploring together how the Lordship of Christ affects every area of life.

Lee Memorial’s Blood Drive will be at New Hope this Sunday, July 20, from 8am-1pm. All blood donated will stay in Lee County and give life to those in our community. Click here to pre-register for your preferred time slot.

YOUTH LADIES' SUNRISE DEVOTION

Several of our brave early bird students made their way to the Sanibel Lighthouse to watch the sunrise with a time of Bible study and fellowship. Unfortunately the no-see-ums came out in full force, so the girls took their study to the Sanibel Cafe, where they had a delicious breakfast. They discussed struggles with self worth and finding our worth in God by examining “The God Who Sees” in Genesis 16. One of their takeaways was a quote from Lysa TerKeurst: “God’s love isn’t based on me. It’s simply placed on me. And it’s the place from which I should live… loved.”

YOUNG LIFE

The mission of Young Life is to introduce adolescents to Jesus Christ and help them grow in their faith. Thomas Quinn is Lee County’s new Young Life Area Director. He, along with a small team of other Young Life staff, are spearheading God’s invitation of relationship and life to high school and college students in our area schools.

Recently, Thomas wrote, “We are so grateful for the ways God is moving through Young Life in Lee County. This summer, our ministry had the incredible opportunity to take 86 high school students from across Fort Myers, Estero, Bonita Springs, and FGCU to Young Life camp. Through this trip, 34 of those students began a new relationship with Jesus Christ! It was a powerful week of fun, connection, and transformation. Lives were truly changed for eternity. As we look ahead, we’re excited for school to start back up in August and to kick off our regular Young Life meetings again. These weekly gatherings give students fresh opportunities to hear about Jesus Christ, experience real community, and grow in their faith. Our Young Life leaders in Lee County are eager to walk alongside students, encouraging them in both life and faith as the new school year begins. Thank you, New Hope, for partnering with us in this mission. Your prayers and support help make moments like these possible for students right here in Lee County.”

Young Life’s ministry in Lee County is made possible by adults in our community. Volunteer leaders, board members, support teams, prayer partners, and donors are always needed. For more ways to get plugged in, visit lee.younglife.org or ask community outreach director Rachel Frey.
