HOPE FOR OUR CITY

We are thankful to the local ministry groups: One More ChildPath2Freedom, and Into the Jordan Ministries for sharing their missions with us. Human trafficking is prevalent right here in SWFL and, as the body of Christ, our awareness helps us to not only fight against this evil, but support rehabilitation for those rescued. For more information or to get signed up for an online Anti-Trafficking 101 training, please email rachel@newhopefortmyers.org.

YOUNG ADULTS MINISTRY

Beginning in October, we will be launching a Young Adults Ministry for ages 18-29! We’ll meet in Room 212 at 7pm on the first and third Sunday of each month for food, games, worship, and a message from God’s Word. See you on October 5!

We’re going to the farm! Join us at ECHO (17391 Durrance Road. North Fort Myers, FL 33917) on Saturday, October 4 at 10am for a tour of the farm to learn more about this interesting ministry. A time for refreshments and fellowship will follow. ECHO’s Global Farm is anything but typical and we have the opportunity to see firsthand one of our local mission partners and how they are GROWING the Kingdom. Through the tour, you’ll experience farming at its most creative, with unique demonstrations, plants, and techniques being used to help farmers and urban gardeners in developing countries. This is a church wide event and open to all ages! See you there!

WOMEN'S MINISTRY UPDATES

Our Women’s Ministry has revved back up with regular classes, circle groups, and events throughout the week. This past Tuesday, they enjoyed a game of bunco that brought together women from all different generations.

The next event will be a mini-retreat entitled “Falling in Love With Jesus Again” on Saturday, October 18, from 9-11:30am. Come reignite your passion for Jesus' love! As we all seek a deeper personal connection with Him, the activities and discussions will strengthen and renew your devotion. Click here to register and to see all of the events available to women.

At New Hope we believe that everyone wins when the leader gets better.  If you are in a leadership role or desire to be a leader in the future, then this class is designed specifically for you. Leadership Explored is a four-week course led by Pastor Sheldon, designed to cultivate a healthy leadership culture. It will be held Sundays from 3-5pm starting on October 12. We will explore our core beliefs and learn what you need to know and what you need to do and the reason why.

STUDENT MINISTRY UPDATES

Our Student Ministry group has been busy this week! On Saturday, we took a local mission trip with CityTakersSWFL. Pastors Greg and Derek visited our campus to emphasize the importance of sharing the gospel and the universal call to make disciples. They inspired our youth by affirming them as not just the “next generation,” but the NOW generation! After teaching us evangelism skills, we went with Greg and Derek to a nearby residential area and knocked on doors to offer free groceries. We witnessed Greg and Derek initiate simple conversations about God and ended each visit by praying with the residents. It was a profound day that impacted both our lives and those we met.

We had 51 students join us for our Late Night event on Monday night featuring escape rooms, other games, and the film Chariots of Fire! We had a blast and look forward to our next Late Night event on Monday, November 10 from 7-10pm featuring a bonfire, s’mores, worship, and outdoor games in the dark! Make sure to save the date and invite your friends!

Lastly, our Wednesday night program is off to a fantastic start! We are thrilled to have welcomed nearly ten new students in the past two weeks and would invite any other students between 6th-12th grade to join us as well. On Wednesday nights, we are exploring Psalm 23: The Freedom Journey, delving into how God's role as our Good Shepherd leads us to experience true freedom. Join us every Wednesday from 6:30-8pm in Room 212.

Juvie Jail Ministry

Each week, a small team of women from New Hope serve by visiting the Juvenile Detention center for girls here in Fort Myers. They take treats to the girls, like lemonade and brownies, as they spend time together learning a message rooted in scripture, always ending with prayer requests. Many of the lessons the girls receive each week include a theme of choosing God in all circumstances. So many of the girls have had difficult lives and truly need prayers to help them move on and put the past behind them, turning their lives over to God.

Thank you to the Juvie Jail team who faithfully teach and love these young girls each week! If you’d like to learn more about this vital ministry and discover how you might play a role, or to receive prayer requests each week, please reach out to Rachel, Director of Community Outreach, at rachel@newhopefortmyers.org.
