New Hope eNews - October 3, 2025

This Sunday, October 5, we begin our Blessed sermon series, exploring one of the most famous passages in Scripture. The Sermon on the Mount contains unforgettable words that embody the essence of the Christian faith. In it, Jesus helps His followers understand what it means to be part of the kingdom of God.

To be blessed means we enjoy a state of well-being, happiness, and joy because we belong to God. In Christ, regardless of our circumstances, we find true well-being, happiness, and joy.

Sinclair Ferguson wrote: ...it is intended to set before us a glorious vision of what the Lord intends our lives to become. The sermon is Jesus' manifesto. It describes a regal lifestyle, the new behavior pattern for the new kingdom we have entered.

Jesus was teaching His people a way of life – but this way of life is only possible once we experience the new birth offered through Jesus. Join us as we study The Beatitudes and seek to be transformed by Christ’s powerful teachings.

See you Sunday,

We’re going to the farm! Join us at ECHO (17391 Durrance Road. North Fort Myers, FL 33917) TOMORROW, October 4 at 10am for a tour of the farm to learn more about this interesting ministry. A time for refreshments and fellowship will follow. ECHO’s Global Farm is anything but typical and we have the opportunity to see firsthand one of our local mission partners and how they are GROWING the Kingdom. Through the tour, you’ll experience farming at its most creative, with unique demonstrations, plants, and techniques being used to help farmers and urban gardeners in developing countries. This is a church wide event and open to all ages! See you there!

"HELPING HANDS" Men's Clothing Drive

Now through October 19, New Hope is collecting donations of gently-used men’s clothing (sizes S-XXL), belts, socks, and shoes for Fort Myers Rescue Mission. FMRM provides Bible studies and discipleship groups for the men living there. Their vision is to provide a way and a hope for men who have come to the end of their rope financially, physically, mentally, and spiritually. The men sleep, eat, learn, and study on the campus of the mission and can even earn a GED. They are offered resources to attain consistent paying jobs and many see total transformation of their lives from sinful habits and addictions. Thank you for your donations to this vital ministry!

Tyler & Brittany

Tyler, Brittany, Danielle, and Joanna live in West Africa among French-speaking people groups with an organization called ILAD, which stands for International Literacy and Development. Brittany is trained in English translation work, fervently praying for the time and help in Old Testament Bible translation work to be completed soon. Tyler’s work is farm-training a couple local guys to maintain a fruit tree nursery that also serves as a demonstration farm for the village the Depkes live in.

In some parts of rural West Africa, 68-82% of children under the age of five suffer from severe child food poverty (*per UNICEF). In order to fight malnutrition, development workers alongside Tyler are currently building a demonstration farm with a double focus of: 1) Cashews as a cash crop and 2) Fruit trees, leafy greens, and beans for local nutrition. With these two foci, the goal is to provide year-round access to greater variety of nutrients for families with young children.
