GUEST SPEAKER: DR. CASE THORP

This Sunday, January 19, we welcome Dr. Case Thorp, the Theologian in Residence at First Presbyterian in Orlando, to speak at both of our services. He works to build trainings that aid in their congregation’s formation. Case is married to Jodi, and they have three beautiful children, Alexandra, Charles, and Brooks. They have enjoyed downtown Orlando as their home since 2005.

Educational stops along the way have included Oxford College (AA), Emory University (BA), Princeton Theological Seminary (MDIV), and Fuller Theological Seminary (DMIN in Missional Ecclesiology).

Originally from Atlanta, Case is a pastor who has served in New Jersey, Texas, California, and Louisiana. He writes, blogs, and presents for the growing faith and work movement while serving as the Made to Flourish Network co-director for Orlando.

He enjoys time engaging the arts, urban design, politics, cycling and swimming, and both a NYT and WSJ in Starbucks.

STUDENT MINISTRY KICKOFF!

What a great time was had by our Common Ground students at our '25 Kickoff, Flapjacks & Flannels! BIG thanks to Brian Zegers and Mike Scales for flipping hot and delicious pancakes. We all enjoyed an axe throwing contest and plenty of games as well as time spent building community with one another!

GOOD NEWS CLUB

Did you know New Hope runs a Good News Club at Colonial Elementary? The club utilizes activities, prayer, teaching, and studying God's word to teach children what it looks like to follow Jesus. Through this club, we are able to share the gospel of Christ to students in a K-5 public classroom on Thursday afternoons! We are looking for volunteers who can commit to about an hour of prep time plus being at the school from 2:30-4:30pm on Thursdays. For more info, email cindylawrence@gmail.com or sharonlashworth@gmail.com.
