This Sunday Pastor Sheldon will continue our "When Love Came Down" series with a sermon titled "The Light Has Come." Join us at our 9:30am traditional service or our 11am contemporary service as we focus on John 1:9-13.
"The true light, which gives light to everyone, was coming into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, yet the world did not know Him. He came to His own, and His own people did not receive Him. But to all who did receive Him, who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God."
If you attend our 11am Contemporary Service and would like to familiarize yourself with the songs we will be singing this Sunday, here are the links to check them out:

VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT:
PAUL GORNY
At 31, an unexpected phone call transformed Paul Gorny’s life; his younger brother, Tom, had unexpectedly died in a car accident. This tragedy pushed him to re-evaluate his life's path and relationship with God. Paul was raised in a turbulent New Jersey household, with his father, a World War II veteran, battling alcoholism. Paul learned resilience early on, facing multiple challenges—relocating to an apartment over a funeral home, dealing with city life, and navigating high school right after the Newark riots.
Despite these trials, Paul says that he “felt that something beyond luck—or perhaps divine intervention—was guiding him, especially when he met his future wife, Kerry, in college.” Their Miami life was filled with abundant living until the sobering loss of Tom forced him to reconsider what truly mattered. Yet, despite accepting faith, Paul wasn’t fully committed, still holding onto a flawed "Superman" mindset: “I thought I was in control,” he would later admit.
Paul learned humility when Kerry faced serious health battles, including brain and oral cancer, turning their world upside down. These trials strengthened their faith and unity. He realized, "God was teaching me the importance of being ‘all in’.”
As life progressed, Paul recognized the value of serving others, whether through church committees or community outreach, aligning with the biblical teaching, "use it to serve one another," from 1 Peter 4:10. Through life's unpredictability, Paul learned that real fulfillment lay in relinquishing control, using his gifts for the greater good, and adhering to God’s plan as described in Jeremiah 29:11: "For I know the plans I have for you," he often quoted, acknowledging the divine purpose that guided his journey.
