New Hope eNews - December 13, 2024

Join us this Sunday at our 9:30am traditional service or 11am contemporary service as we continue our "When Love Came Down" sermon series. Pastor Sheldon will speak on "God Reconciling Man" while focusing on 2 Corinthians 5:16-21.

"From now on, therefore, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we once regarded Christ according to the flesh, we regard Him thus no longer. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to Himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making His appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. For our sake He made Him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God."

ADVENT-URE NIGHT RECAP!

We welcomed families to New Hope’s campus on Wednesday night to kick off the holiday season with a Christmas party big enough for the whole family! Our student and adult volunteers welcomed younger kids to an evening full of crafts, music, cookie decorating, visits with Santa, and a giant, inflatable slide. Even Buddy the Elf made an appearance and ate 20 cookies!

We invite you to commemorate special occasions or honor the memory of a loved one by ordering flowers for our sanctuary. These beautiful floral arrangements will not only enhance our worship space, but also provide a meaningful tribute. Whether it's a birthday, anniversary, or a heartfelt remembrance, let the beauty of flowers express your sentiments. Click here to order or get more details.

Make plans now to attend our Mission Fest Dinner on Wednesday, January 15, at 6pm. This will be a wonderful opportunity to learn about what our mission partners do to serve those in need in our community and throughout the world and how you can get involved.

TABLES OF CHRISTMAS

The Tables of Christmas women's event was a delightful gathering filled with fellowship, beautiful music, and laughter. With over 100 women in attendance, the evening was a perfect blend of joy and community spirit. If you missed this wonderful occasion, be sure to mark your calendar for the upcoming Easter Breakfast on April 16!

Are you interested in joining New Hope’s membership? Next month there will be an opportunity to learn more about what it means to be a member, what the EPC stands for, and to get your questions answered. Plan to join us on Saturday, January 25 from 8:30am-12:30pm as we fellowship and learn together.

VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT:

MOISES MONTALVO

Moises grew up immersed in the teachings of Jesus, learning about His word, love, and mercy and guided by his devoted parents. He began his musical journey with percussion at age 6, playing in children and youth services before moving to Sunday services. At 14, Moises expanded his musical skills by learning the bass guitar, which he still enjoys today. "Weekly church gatherings and music were my life until I left to serve my country at 18," Moises reflects. His time in the military challenged his faith, exposing him to harsh realities beyond his sheltered upbringing. "You welcome friends, and you bury friends, and the cycle goes on," he recalls, highlighting the rapid maturity demanded by service.

After his military career, Moises returned to his roots in a church community, finding love and care in his safe place. His passion for music continued, leading him to learn the piano 11 years later, which he now plays in the contemporary Sunday worship service. "I've gained confidence in my music journey and my walk with Jesus, even earning a bachelor's degree in religion from Liberty University," Moises shares. Volunteering at his church, he finds joy in using his God-given talents for His glory, proudly embracing his role as a modern-day Levite.

A NOTE OF THANKS FROM
"WE CARE OUTREACH"

Everyone at We Care Outreach expresses our deepest gratitude for New Hope's overwhelming generosity and heartfelt support during our Thanksgiving drive. Your congregation embodied Matthew 25:35, where Jesus reminds us, “For I was hungry and you gave Me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave Me something to drink.” Your donations and prayers demonstrated God’s love in action. Because of you, hundreds of families experienced hope and renewal, a reminder of His provision even in the midst of hardship. Families who received the baskets were deeply moved, not just by the physical gifts, but by the love and care they felt through them. Your partnership has been a testimony to the power of unity in the body of Christ, and we are so grateful for your faithfulness to His call! May the Lord bless you for your kindness and faithfulness!
